I have an addiction to my cell phone. I am the first to admit it. Sometimes it’s hard to just set it aside and not think about it. I don’t post on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter very often though. Mostly, I use it because I feel bored. So I see what other people are up to, or read incredibly stupid articles about incredibly stupid topics. One thing I see many posts of are couples doing things together. That is one thing I’m not great at doing, for many reasons. When Justin and I actually do things together, I like to be in the moment. I try to keep my phone…

A Family Recipe.
I LOVE Strawberries. They are my favorite red thing ever! My sister gave me a recipe book the first Christmas we were married and in it were recipes from both of our families. It was such a lovely gift and I treasure it. Mostly because I have found recipes that I completely forgot about. It’s not that I forgot about this precise recipe, but I haven’t made it in a very, very long time. My Aunt Mariane died the summer I graduated high school from a long battle with cancer. This strawberry salad creates a deep memory of her for me. This was at every family dinner we had. It…

What I’ve Been Watching.
I love watching TV and movies. It’s like a nice escape from my everyday life. We don’t have cable or anything. We use Netflix, Hulu, Amazon and a Plex server. So, here is what I have been watching recently: Liv & Maddie I like to release my inner child sometimes so I binge watched Liv & Maddie (Disney Channel) on Netflix this past week or so. I watched the series finale last night and cried for the last two episodes. *sigh* I’m such a sap. It was a fun show to watch. I mostly watched it because the main actress is Dove Cameron. I became a fan of hers after…

2 Years.
Monday marks our two year wedding anniversary. I have learned so very much over the past couple years. Marriage isn’t easy. Period. End of story. It isn’t easy, but it is absolutely worth it. I do miss the relaxed days of being single, but I wouldn’t give this up for anything. I never went through to painful dating phase. But I do miss the days of eating popcorn for dinner, making plans without checking with someone else first, things like that. I have never felt more comfortable in my own life before. I am completely and 100% myself. It feels so amazing to just let me freak flag fly. We…

Having Courage To Go For It.
These past couple weeks have been filled with some ups and downs. I applied for the position of Executive Assistant to the Owner of the company I currently work for. After talking to the current assistant, the job sounded amazing. Like everything I would ever want in a position. The week leading up to my interview, my anxiety kicked up to about 5,000%. It was horrible! So horrible! Not the interview, my anxiety. After I quit working at the bank, I got rid of a lot of my dress clothes so finding something to wear for said interview was excruciating. Luckily, I had an amazing friend who texted and snapped…

Oh Goodness Gracious.
I have been slacking on so many things. Let’s see. What is new in our lives…. Halloween: Today is Halloween! I love Halloween! I love dressing up and pretending to be someone (or something) I’m not. Justin dressed up as a WWE Champion with this snazzy blazer we found at Goodwill (after removing those horrible horrible shoulder pads). A group of us in my department decided to dress us as zombie disney characters. I had zero idea what I wanted to do, up until the last minute. Hello Zombie Maleficent. I seriously don’t think I have ever used that much hairspray. Ever. I felt so incredibly flamable. I have never dressed as…

Road Trip!
Since I love bullet points so much, I decided to write this post with just bullet points. You’re welcome! We left Wednesday afternoon for Michigan so Justin could compete in the State Games of America in tennis. This podcast was a lifesaver. It was so funny, and great, and everything I have ever wanted in a podcast. Justin surprised me with a side trip to St. Louis to see the arch, since I had never seen it before. It was amazing, and so much larger than I ever imagined. We will be going back at some point so we can go inside. We spent the night at an Airbnb in Illinois…

Goodwill.
Happy Sunday everyone! Yesterday was just a great day. I spent the first half of the day at work since I took Monday off in order to get a four-day weekend. It was well worth it. After clocking my eight hours, I met up with Becca and P to talk wedding, and do some light shopping. I found this beauty at Marshalls. My rule about Marshalls: If it isn’t under $10, I’m not buying it. That might sound a little stingy, but that’s how a play. That way if I really really really really want it, I will have to fork out more. I have a very hard time even…

Stupid [Beeeeeeping] Neighbors.
Oh apartments. How I f***ing hate you. Now, normally I enjoy living here. But really? What are you guys freaking doing up there? Having a bloody rager? YOU LIVE IN AN APARTMENT BUILDING. TURN DOWN YOUR MOTHER F***ING MUSIC. I would apologize for all the cussing, but i’m really not that sorry. We pay a large amount every month to live in a decent apartment, the one thing I expect is a little peace and quiet. It is vibrating our walls. The couch. My freaking life. At this moment, I am literally singing along to the Selena Gomez song they are listening to. It is that loud that I can…

MasterChef.
I keep getting more and more obsessed with cooking. Seriously. It’s becoming an addiction. Gordon Ramsay. He is wonderful. Especially when he is yelling at people on MasterChef. I am not a huge, huge fan of MasterChef though. I really enjoy his more calm, online teaching videos. I have never watched more than one episode of a cooking show before. Gordon may cuss at people a lot, but I think he is actually rather sweet and wants people to do well. Oh good grief people. Why why why do you say you nailed the dish?! WHY?! When people say that, I know that it’s going to taste like crap. But…
