• We Bought a Thing!!

Guys. We bought a house. A gorgeous, single floor, three bedroom, two bath, attached garage, large backyard kind of house. This is the first morning in what feels like months that I have been able to just sit on the couch and…sit. It feels good.

  • Cinco de Mayo.

May 5th. I put in some overtime hours at work, got my hairs cut, helped a friend with some wedding stuff, and then went out for dinner at La Fiesta, mostly because I had new hair, and got half my makeup done at Ulta. So…why not? Surprisingly, the wait wasn’t awful.

  • Swingers.

Disclaimer: This post isn’t actually about ‘swinging’. For those who don’t actually know my husband, he isn’t a hugely social guy. I have made that man go on so many new double dates, I used to feel kind of bad for him. Untilllll…he accepted one on our behalf. We thought we would just be doing lunch and bowling. We thought wrong. And it was so much fun!

  • Graduation.

A new friend of mine is graduating from K-State in May and I am so happy/proud of her. So much so, that I went out and took some pictures for her as a gift.

  • I Am Not Ashamed.

Secrets. There are so many secrets that people have.  I don’t believe that anyone is completely honest, everyone has something to hide.  I am tired of hiding.  Tired of lying to people, trying to act like something I’m not. It look a long time to realize this, but I am awesome. I am amazing.  I am unique.  Weird.  Quirky.  I am me. I am who I am and no one is able to change that except for myself. I only hope that I grow stronger and wiser as I get older. I have many, many secrets.  One of which is that I used to hate myself.  I was very cold…

  • Happiness.

Happiness is something that so many people are in search of. One thing that I love about myself is that it does not take much to make me happy. Think about it. The world is all about the next big thing, buying the newest toys, the coolest clothes and shoes. Here is a small list of the small things that bring me happiness. If you are ever feeling down, just try one. Plain vanilla ice cream cone New fingernail polish A short nap A hug Having a friend over to watch a movie Listening to a super fun up-beat song (for me it’s I Just Had Sex by The Lonely…

  • In-Laws.

I met my in-laws a year ago at this time. I was terrified. I wanted them to like me, and for me to like them. I thought I would just be meeting his parents and maybe an aunt and uncle. Instead, I met basically EVERYONE. Parents, three aunts, two uncles, two sets of grandparents, one great grandma, and some cousins. I think that’s everyone. Yup. I about peed my pants. I was so nervous. Everything went fine, like I pretty much knew it would, but there is always that doubt in the back of your mind that your boyfriends mom will hate you. I got so lucky. I always said I…

  • Banana Bread Recipe.

Banana Bread. It’s so goooooood. We had a couple bananas that were getting a little brown so I decided it was time. I got this recipe for banana bread from my sister who got it from her sister-in-law who got it from…I have no idea where. So, let us begin. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Assemble your materials…. Mix all of your dry ingredients together in a medium-ish sized bowl. Mash up your bananas…. Then combine all of your wet ingredients in a large bowl Now it’s time to add the dry ingredients to the wet ones in the big bowl. Mix it only until everything is combined. Just…
