A few weeks ago I shared a friends thoughts on everything happening with women’s rights. Now it’s time for mine. A letter to the people with a ‘Vote Yes’ sign in your yard: I don’t know who you are. You are a complete stranger to me. I don’t know your names or how old you are. I don’t know where you are from or what you do for a living. I don’t know your kid’s names…or if you even have kids. I don’t know what you do for fun, what your favorite color is, or your favorite food. I know NOTHING about you. And do you know what? You know…

My First Face-ache.
My one year old head-butted me in the nose (which didn’t impact him AT – FREAKING – ALL). No blood, no bruising…but the next morning I woke up and couldn’t figure out what was wrong with my head. I didn’t have a headache…No. I had a faceache. My face ached so badly. So bad. Gotta love da beebees!

What Did I Just Do?!
I just deleted Facebook and Instagram from my phone. I was doing some research on blogging and how to not give a fuck if someone doesn’t like what I say when I came upon this article: https://markmanson.net/not-giving-a-fuck. It said…. If you find yourself consistently giving too many fucks about trivial shit that bothers you, chances are you don’t have much going on in your life to give a legitimate fuck about. And that’s your real problem. I had been working on something I found frustrating on Instagram when, thanks to this article, I realized I’m not putting my fucks towards legitimate things. (Sorry mama-in-law for all the f-bombs!). So instead,…

Make Your Bed.
Whenever I have a day that just feels out of control or anxious, there is one thing I can do that helps turn it around. I make my bed. I turn off my brain and focus on tucking back in the sheet, on smoothing out a comforter, on fluffing up a pillow. That one simple thing can help smooth my anxiety. Almost a “look at this proof that I can accomplish something”. You don’t have to have ten different pillows, super cute throws, nothing fancy. Turn off the Instagram envy and simply make the bed that you have. Plus, it feels so good when you crawl into a freshly made…

The ABC’s of Gaming.
Some friends of ours gifted us/Silas the most precious Christmas gift ever. The ABC’s of Gaming: An alphabet book for little gamers This is the cutest little book I’ve ever seen! My favorite page is actually at the very end where the little controller is tucked into bed! It makes my heart feel all fuzzy. Thanks Megan & Paul! I can’t wait for Silas to really enjoy this book!

My Favorite Things (January Edition).
Smart SweetsI actually get these from our grocery store because it’s cheaper than the website. I wish our grocery store carried more of them, but so far they only have these, and we’ve tried them all: Peach Rings: I love these! Sweet Fish: We loved these, but eventually started to get tired of them Sour Blast Buddies: Still obsessed with these. They are so freaking good!! Sweet Chews: These were disgusting. Seriously. Gross. We spit them out in the trash. Sheila G’s Chocolate Chip Brownie BrittleHeaven in my mouth. That’s all I can say. I tend to buy more than one bag of this at a time so I know…

Our Decision to Formula Feed.
When our baby was born, he had a problem with sucking and swallowing. The medical personnel struggled to figure out what was going on because apparently that is more of a preemie problem, and our guy was full term. Because of this, after spending about 48 hours in the hospital trying to breastfeed the lactation consultant asked if we could do some formula to just get him fed because we were starting to see complications from him not getting nutrients. Fed is Best. Period. Fed is best, so I didn’t care that we used formula so soon, even though I still really planned on breastfeeding. When we left the hospital…

Pregnant in a Pandemic.
This was never how I envisioned my first pregnancy going, especially after waiting for it this long. Instead of get-togethers, celebrations and visits from our family and friends watching our baby grow inside me, I spent about 7 months in complete and utter fear. Instead, we went into quarantine before we told anyone our news so we didn’t get to see the excitement on their faces in person. Most people were told over the phone or via video chat. I was terrified anytime I would go out in public (which wasn’t very often: doctors office, picking up groceries in a parking lot, getting gas). I was terrified anytime I would…

Snow Days
Snow is coming in Kansas. Most likely. I mean, it’s about time. I have realized that since I have a child, snow days as I’ve known them no longer exist. Even if I wanted to work from home, I would still have to leave the house to take him to daycare. That’s stupid. These are the things no one tells you about having kids ….

MM 100: Week 5.
Workouts 32 – ? Monday So..my weeks have gotten a bit mixed up. Not sure where I am with keeping things up to date. So I’m just going to resume here, even though I might actually be on week 6. Oh well! Today was upbeat strength. I varied somewhere between 5 pounds and 10 lb for the workouts. My knees have been bothering me a lot lately but luckily with this workout I only had to modify the hundred second challenge. Oh and one of the warm ups. I do not want to get on my knees on our living room floor right now because that hurts. I did some…
